Cosmopolis - Dan Delilo

Read it, loved it... posting my favorite quotes (that, as a forever-nerdie, I highlighted) on here tonight, as soon as I get home  


ETA: Ok here's a couple of quotes I liked... *SPOILER ALERT*

We don't have a "Cosmopolis" movie thread up yet, but I thought this could be a book discussion (sorta) since the casting for Elise has concluded!  Sarah isn't what I exactly pictured for Elise (I was kind of set on Marion, till she had to drop out due to her pregnancy), but I think it's a big plus that Sarah's cast (again) because she worked w/Cronenberg in his last film, "The Dangerous Method".  

Oh, and she'll be playing Rob's wifey (for those who haven't read the book yet).

LOL, no...I was just being lazy in creating a new thread in the movie section...I noticed your thread in the book section didn't get any replies, and I was like, "Welllllllllll...no wonder, I can't read the ant-like font!"    So, I wanted your post to have some company...hence my Sarah casting post.    We'll have the rest of the movie talk in a designated "Cosmopolis" movie thread.  *nods*

I am going to try and read cosmopolis now that I have finished my previous book.  Hope I can get a hold of it from the library

I have this book sitting right here on my desk but I havent been able to bring myself to read it. From what I have heard it is a great read.

I am currently reading cosmopolis.  so far so good.   They are still waiting for the Yen to drop. I am just wondering how tthey are going to film the part in his office with the replacement Doctor  If you know what I mean

I have this book sitting on my shelf to read but i cant get myself into any books at the moment. I should really work on starting and finishing this book.

i was in powell's yesterday and zach and i perused the dan delilo section. i noticed they had one of those recommendation cards by store employees (you know what i mean, right?) for cosmopolis but that there were no actual copies of it. sad day.
zach read a book by him called 'white noise' that he said was okay, but he didn't care for the characters at all.

I finished the book on Monday!!! Although it was interesting, I found the way of writing a bit tiring and at times a bit confusing to be honest...plot wise though, I liked it!!! I think it's going to look very interesting on screen and I'm sure Robert will be great playing this part! i really think he can pull it off!!
