The Twilight Saga: New Moon cast
Now international stars, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson reprise their roles as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, with Taylor Lautner stepping up his role from Twilight as Jacob Black to complete the eternal triangle.

The Cullen family also return to the action, played by Ashley Greene, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone alongside Billy Burke as Charlie Swan.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon sees the first look at the Volturi, centuries old vampire royalty led by Michael Sheen (The Damned United, Frost/Nixon), Dakota Fanning (Coraline, Hide and Seek) and Brit newcomer Jamie Campbell Bower (RocknRolla). The film also introduces a host of newcomers in Jacob’s Quileute tribe including Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz and Kiowa Gordon.

The film features a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight, Step Up) and is directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker Chris Weitz (About A Boy, The Golden Compass).

In this week’s Entertainment Weekly, which is on stands now, Twilight Saga: New Moon director Chris Weitz reveals some things you may have missed in the film! One of the secrets, talks about a little trick with Rob and a double dressed as Rob.

New Moon Director Chris Weitz recently talked to MTV about New Moon DVD details, including that there will be a commentary on the DVD with Rob and co-stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner!

Weitz also says that there will be deleted scenes and more!

‘New Moon’ Breaks Midnight Records

According to Pronetworks (and via Twilight Lexicon),

Summit has announced that The Twilight Saga: New Moon has officially set a new all-time midnight box office record, taking in $26.27M from 3514 theaters.

This shatters The Dark Knight’s $18.4M midnight debut for a 3-day weekend. It also easily surpasses the all-time record for midnight showings which was held by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which took in $22.2M on a Tuesday night on its way to a 5-day weekend total of $158M. The Dark Knight went on to take in $67.17M that opening day, dropped 29.1% from Friday to Saturday to bring in another $47.65M, and ended with $43.6M on Sunday for an opening weekend total of $158.4M.
